Jayden Lister
Founder of Brave Enough Co
Hello & Welcome!
Im Jay, I bring over 15 years of experience across the disability, mental health and community services sectors, including team leadership, participant advocacy and frontline support with individuals and families navigating complex, high care, psychosocial and autism-related needs. I have extensive experience working within multicultural and diverse communities, providing culturally aware and inclusive support. Alongside my professional background, I hold a Certificate IV in Disability and have extensive trauma-informed experience gained through many years working in children and youth camps, where emotional safety, trust-building and behaviour-aware care are essential.
Throughout my career, I’ve seen too many people treated as tasks instead of humans. Brave Enough Co was born from a simple belief: everyone deserves to feel safe, heard and genuinely supported from the heart!
Lived Experience That Shapes My Work
What truly sets Brave Enough Co apart is lived experience.
I am neurodivergent and live with ADHD, and I have personal experience within the LGBTQIA+ community. These lived insights shape the way I work creating environments where people feel safe, affirmed and understood.
I also bring lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery, which gives me a genuine understanding of how vulnerable it can feel to ask for help. Combined with a deep awareness of resilience and rebuilding life after adversity, this allows me to meet people with compassion, patience and without judgement.
Approach
At Brave Enough Co, we don’t just provide services we build relationships.
We take a trauma-informed, person-centred approach that recognises the real stories behind every plan, diagnosis and referral. We support not only individuals, but also the families who carry the weight of caring every single day.
Our work is grounded in:
• Respect
• Dignity
• Emotional safety
• Choice and control
• Genuine connection
Mission
The mission is to create a supportive network, a true community and extended family where everyone is welcomed, valued and safe to be themselves.
At Brave Enough Co, we believe people thrive when they feel connected, understood and supported not only as individuals, but as part of something bigger.
We are here to build relationships, strengthen families and walk alongside people with compassion, respect and genuine care, every step of the way.
You are a person and you belong here!
